FLORENCE and TUSCANY

From Renaissance art to cypress trees

A taste for harmony. The value of craftsmanship. The charm of a city that seems to have eschewed the passage of time. Florence. Just its name is enough to evoke tales of history (especially that of the Medici family), art - that of the great Tuscan and Renaissance masters - and literature.
Michelangelo, Giotto, Brunelleschi and Donatello become almost like fellow travellers during your stay in this city, a treasure trove of art waiting to be discovered and appreciated, even in the dishes served by the trattorias in the old historic centre (watching the sun set over the Arno with a glass of Chianti DOC is in itself a divine experience).
And then you have the mythical region of Tuscany, which deserves to be explored in its own right: fields of hills dotted with cypress trees and abundant with olive groves, vineyards, hidden hermitages and fortress cities, such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Lucca and Siena, to name a few. The roads wind over the rolling hills until they reach the coast, fringed with popular beaches, such as the Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan Coast), where you can find several charming municipalities including Castagneto Carducci and Cala de Medici.
