An Oscar-Worthy destination

Nestled in the vast green landscape of the Po Valley, just a few kilometres from Milan and Bergamo international airports and also easily accessible by train, the city of Crema is the perfect choice to escape the hustle and bustle of big city life, being just a stone’s throw away from an area of unspoiled natural beauty.
Crema offers an appealing opportunity to leave the stresses of everyday life behind and truly indulge yourself, for a relaxing holiday no matter the season. The city has made a name for itself on the film tourism scene thanks above all to Guadagnino’s renowned Oscar-winning film, Call me by your name.
The elegant historic centre is abundant with religious and civic architectural masterpieces, such as the Torrazzo clock tower in Piazza Duomo and the Torre Guelfa (Guelph Tower), which houses the statue of the city’s patron saint and the lion of San Marco, a testimony to the city’s historic links with the Republic of Venice. The city is also home to the Chiesa della SS. Trinità (Church of the Holy Trinity), the Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie (Church of Our Lady of Graces), the Mercato Austroungarico (Austro-Hungarian indoor market) and the Santuario di Santa Maria della Croce (Shrine of St. Mary of the Cross). Crema is also along the route of the “città murate e castellate” (walled castle cities) in the province of Cremona.
All of them can also be reached by bike, and among the closest ones worth visiting are Pizzighettone and Soncino.
